The Heceta Lighthouse is located about 10 miles North of Heceta Beach off US 101. Its a half mile hike from the parking lot to the lighthouse. Volunteers give 30 minute tours around the grounds of the lighthouse and in the first floor. Views are beautiful and the tour is worthwhile.

Located along possibly the most beautiful 20 miles of Highway 101 this is a beautiful stop. The second most photographed lighthouse in the World is of interest even to those who are not particular lighthouse buffs. It still operates one of the few remaining Fresnel lens from the late 1800s. Volunteers offer free tours of the lighthouse although a fee... More

Heceta is one of the most beautiful spots on Oregon's coast. The lighthouse is beautiful, there are some easy and great hiking trails and a beautiful beach with a small river running in to the ocean. All for only a $5 entrance fee! Do not miss this beautiful place!

Nice view of the coastline, beach at the bottom with plenty of tide pools and caves to explore. Easy hike to the lighthouse.

The Heceta Head Lighthouse is a nice-looking building, but in no way more special than any other Oregonian lighthouse. The walk up is pleasant, but the tour was deathly boring. I could barely wait to get out of the lighthouse following the tour, which was not much of a tour, as you cannot go up the stairs of the building.... More

Love to come to the lighthouse. The bay is perfect. We've even experienced river otters coming off the mountain, it was neat 😊 The downfall would have to be the bathrooms...non-flushing...enough said!

We were on a day trip alon the coast and decided to stop at Heceta Head. nice little beach area with a river splitting it in two. Lots of rocks for the kids to explore plus some sandy beach areas. There were a few picnic tables and facilities were available although those are nothing more than a hole in the... More

Heceta Head is the most beautiful light house in the world! It never ceases to inspire. The best view is from the scenic overview just south of the lighthouse. It is also interesting to take the tour and go in the lighthouse.

Stopped here and did the short walk to the lighthouse. From there, I took the Heceta Head trail, which took me through beautiful wooded areas. There are stunning overlooks with views of the cliffs to the ocean. The trail meets up with Hobbit Trail, taking me down to Hobbit Beach, an area of pristine secluded beach. To save money, stop... Missed the tour but no problem, as we hiked up above the lighthouse...good view directly even with the lens etc. Then we kept on hiking thru the beautiful old growth rain forest, trail led to hobbit beach.
