We stopped here on our drive up the coast and loved the views from around the lighthouse. We parked at the beach right below it and took the short walk up to the lighthouse that has boards with all the history along the way. The history of the lighthouse keeper was great to read about as he would run up... More

Of all of the lighthouses on the Oregon Coast, Heceta Head is by far the most interesting. After exploring on the beach where the river meets the sea, we hiked up to the light keeper's house and further up to the light itself. Once there, a volunteer spoke of the history of the light, the people who lived and worked... More

My husband and I visited the Heceta Head lighthouse while we were visiting the Oregon coast. We trekked up to the lighthouse and were treated to a historical account of the place. Was very enjoyable and informative. Would definitely recommend a visit to it while you are on your way down the coast.

Heceta Head Lighthouse includes the assistant lighthouse keeper's home turned into a B&B, a very nice gift shop, and the lighthouse itself. From the parking lot, the walk is a nice break and the views are spectacular. Volunteers lead tours of the lighthouse. No admission, but there is a small parking fee.

The Heceta Head Lighthouse is a great place to stop along HWY 101. It has some great views and an interesting history. It is a good walk up to the lighthouse. It is a great place to get out to stretch your legs and get some great pictures. Depending on the weather, you might also go down to the small... More

We did the hike from the Hobbit Trail. It was a great hike. Warning IT IS A CLIMB both ways. But it was worth it.

After dreaming for twenty years of visiting lighthouses on the Oregon coast, Heceta Head fulfilled my dream! The best picture views if you have a good zoom are from the first larger pullout north of the sea lion caves. Also a great view of the lighthouse and a fun beach experience at the beach next to the parking lot ($5... More

This was worth the stop. Beautiful lighthouse and the home that was used for the families is a bed and breakfast. A half mile walk to the lighthouse in a very pretty area. We had a tour with Beverly who did a great job telling us about the lighthouse and answering questions. We really enjoyed our time there.
