So fun!! My 2 sons took lessons from Gabe for an hour and picked it up easily. Gabe was so much fun and had so much patience with everyone. My husband and I rented a sled instead of a board and we both enjoyed that. Lots of walking up and down the dunes but worth it. All in all, we were there a total of 4 hours which was plenty. There’s a Fred Meyers store you can walk to for a restroom. You will be full of sand from head to toe afterwards, but it’s worth it. I wore yoga pants and long sleeve shirt which worked well. Go as early as you can because by noon it’s windy and difficult to board.

I recently visited Sand Master Park and had an absolutely incredible time! From start to finish, the experience was unforgettable.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They made sure we were equipped with all the necessary gear and provided clear instructions on how to sandboard safely. Their enthusiasm for the sport was contagious and added to the overall excitement of the day.

Falling in sand is so much easier on your body than falling on snow or water. I'm surprised this sport hasn't exploded. Myself and my 14 year old son were first time sand-boarders while the rest of the family did sleds. Caleb was a great instructor and had us flying down the highest dunes in no time. Lots of fun. Everyone had a blast. Highly recommend!

This summer I went up the coast and my favorite place I went was SMP. The staff there is wonderful. As a 15 year old girl I loved all of the clothes they had for sale there! I took home a shirt with matching shorts that said "It's not Snow" also a great sweatshirt(: I never knew that Sandboarding was so fun. My friends from California always talked about it but I never knew that it was so awesome! I am glad to now have my own board. This summer my family and I are going to make a trip to Florence again. I can't wait to shred some nar(;

We loved it! Great staff and way cool sandboards! Very friendly & knowledgable. On a trip during winter break, we rented some boards from Sand Master Park and had a blast!! We were there in the "off" season according to some locals. Apparently not when it came to sandboarding!!!!! Kids had a blast. The shop is cool and they have a samples of sand from around the world - a definite must see! It is affordable, easy to locate and something I will recommend to others who want an excellent boarding experience without snow.

My friends and I had just got done with finals and decided to take a trip to the Oregon Coast. We live in Eugene, so the drive was a short one. A couple of us had snowboarded before, but none of us had sandboarded, so we decided to take a lesson.

I distinctly remember being shocked at how cheap it was ($16 for a rental!), having taken lessons at a ski resort before. The lesson was an hour long, and the instructor was very courteous and friendly, covered all the basics, and ended up riding with us at Honeyman State Park later that evening!

While the dunes behind Sand Master were good for learners, after our lesson, we were ready for more! Our instructor told us to head down to Honeyman State Park, which was only about a 5 minute drive south. All in all, our trip to Sand Master Park ended up being a day full of fun, and we went back multiple times throughout the 2011 summer!

When you pull up to the sandmaster park store in florence, you won't see a lot of cars. This store is where you get your board and learn about sandboarding, and then you drive 2 min back down the road to the sand dunes, which is why you won't see a lot of cars. This freaked me out a bit thinking no one else was trying it, but trust me, you MUST try this!

After getting a brief lesson, we found the pointers easy to follow and were riding down the sand dunes in no time. It took some getting used to, and learning how to best control the board, but was lots of fun! And a lot of work to climb back up, such a work out!

The sand dunes themselves are amazing. Such a big area so we could only see a few people, very spread out. No one is on top of each other, lots of space. And I felt better no one could see me fall down. :) The dunes are beautiful!
