Full disclosure, I did not take the ride, but followed the train as it went north along the 101 coast highway. Because of it's slow speed, you can easily stop 3 or 4 times along the way to watch it go by the beautiful ocean...More

This is a perfect way to see some beautiful sights and scenery while someone else does the driving! We caught the train in Rockaway Beach and did the round trip to Garibaldi and back. It's not a long ride - just the right length, actually....More

Great time on the train from Garibaldi to the Fireworks Show in Rockaway Beach. Don't have to worry about finding a parking place and avoids the traffic jam to get out of town afterwards. Beautiful sunset and views on the way. Sky of stars on...More

We boarded the train in Rockaway (plenty of parking). I love all things historical so this was a fun ride for me being able to ride in a Pullman car by a great northern locomotive from the 50's. Our party had five kids as well...More

Yes, you can take dogs on the train, but they need to be in an outside car. I think they need to be on a leash as well, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

They have discounts for seniors and they allow younger children on the train for free. I am sure you will have a great time and the kids will 'love' this.
