Maybe it's because I've been recently spoiled with the spectacular scenery in the Canadian Rockies/Glacier NP/Eastern Sierra in California, etc, that I did not find this hike impressive in the least. Parking for this trailhead is a nightmare. You have to get here early or...More

We decided to walk the trail to mirror lake and was so glad we did. We were rewarded with the most incredible images of Mount Hood reflected perfectly in the crystal clear mirror lake. A must do if you are in the area.

There should be better signage off of highway 26. I was looking for a major entrance but there isn't one. The way up is steep and Rocky is some places. The path around the lake still had some snow and the board path on the...More

The trail still has snow on it and the lake is mostly frozen. While the lower trail is mostly dry and clear, as you get about halfway up, it begins to be a mix of snow/mud. By the tine you get to the junction with...More

We visited the trail at Mirror Lake twice, once to scout for a portrait session and the second time with friends to shoot their photos! We loved the hike and the views at the end!

We did this hike on a very foggy day. The trailhead is right on the side of Highway 26. It came up quick, so we actually had to u-turn but there is a jersey wall divider so we had to u-turn again to get back...More

Was lucky enough to show up the morning after it snowed. Mount Hood was only partly obscured by clouds which is a monumental achievement in the middle of November, and it reflected beautifully off of Mirror Lake. This is an easy hike that is all...More

Mirror Lake has a accessible trail suitable for most around the entire circumference of this gorgeous lake. Rumored that the legendary Big Foot has been seen by locals in this area. Take your camera, shoot some photos of this lake and beautiful trial then on...More

Hi, Not sure you what you mean "from the trail," but if you hike the approx 1.5 miles from the trailhead to the lake, you could swim in the lake. The beach is very tiny, and there are also people fishing sometimes. Water... More
