We were gifted tickets to the Polar Express. We've always wanted to go, and since they were a gift we absolutely couldn't pass it up! I've read mixed reviews about the ride, so my interest was more peaked. We live in Bend, so we are...More

A fun evening--- lots of attention to detail for children. Hot chocolate and cookies were a hit! Lots of energy and participation. Great memory maker!

Our daughter really enjoyed the Polar Express train ride. Highly recommended. We went when there was snow, and she really loved that. Was a little dark at night, might've been a bit better to go in he afternoon to see more out the windows.

We was very disappointed, I-84 was closed at MP 64 to Troutdale so no exit to enter Hood River. Since we was coming from the east side of the state on I-84. The trip to Hood River is about 2.5 hours, I was trying to...More

In the past, we took our grandchildren and it was fun but this year it was a BIG disappointment. The train car was old and not in good shape for seating at all. The Santa and characters were unimaginative and even the kids thought kind...More

First of all, we stayed at the Hood River Hotel, which was perfect! (Right across the street!) Complete with radiators in front of the windows on the river-view side with trains going by at night. We booked the 4:30 ride, so we got to see...More

My husband and I took our two girls (5 and 1), along with my mother in law and nephew. The train ride was fun mostly because we had never been on a train before. We departed at 5pm, so we got to see the beautiful...More

We had diamond seats in the glass ceiling car which had great views and we sat in a booth that easily sat 4 adults and 2 kids. Got everyone into the holiday spirit! The kids ages 4 and 7 were the perfect ages for it....More

This adventure has so much potential, but just lacks the magic needed to make the book come to life. Tickets for a family of 4 in economy (regular train seats, no table, no dome view) were 168.00 on a Friday night in November. If he...More

Is this a good way to see Mt. Hood or is it primarily sight seeing along the Hood River Valley?

MTRR is mostly along the HR valley and is mostly a crummy over-rated trip in my opinion. The best way to see Mt Hood is to take a drive (or tour bus) on Hwy 26 to Government Camp and continue on up to Timberline Lodge. This... More
Interested in going when cherries are in bloom. Will I see orchards along the route? Where exactly does the route go?

We took the dinner train at the end of October so it was dark for the most of the ride. I could not tell for sure if there were orchards or what type. I would check to see when what time it becomes dark during the train... More

We are interested in going on the Polar Express however we cannot decide if we should book for a 2pm to see the views during the day or the 4:30 pm train ride. Any suggestions? Thanks!

We've been traveled on the Polar Express - any earlier than 4:30pm and you will see the shabbiness of the broken down cars along the way and what looks to be abandoned buildings. Depending on the ages of the children who are... More
