We have been on other trams, in the Redwoods and in Switzerland. While Wallowa lake area in sometimes referred to as "little Switzerland", we didn't really get that feel (perhaps it just needed some snow). However, this was a great tram ride, going up quite a ways to the top of Mt. Howard. Worth the price of admission. Be sure... More

During a recent mother/son camping trip to Joseph, I was trying to do things we hadn’t done before. I had seen the Wallowa Lake Tramway before and hadn’t thought much about it figuring we ride these enough during ski season. This year I decided it was time to give it a go and see what was up there. The base... More

Tram ascends to 8,000 feet in cable car. Trails that provide various views of mountains and valleys surrounding on top. Hang gliding happening. Well worth the money. Restaurant good food, great view, worth the wait.

I'm not big on "heights". But, i am sooooo glad. Did the this. And the tram ride really isn't bad at all. Take the seat facing the mountain. Once at the summit the views are absolutely spectacular. Just do it !!!!!

It was a perfect clear day when we took the tram up. Breath taking view. My husband enjoyed the trails, took about an hour to hike all of them.

Had never visited this area. The tram is a little expensive ($31/person), but it is a surprisingly long & scenic gondola ride to the top of the mountain. Great views all around, and a variety of trails, both long and short, with signs to explain the topography etc. Could easily spend several hours here hiking. Did not eat, but there... More

Ride up to the top on a clear day and the view is awesome and there is a restaurant on top also. Perhaps you want lunch there also after walking around. Very good for the hikers and bikers. Biking would not be for the faint of heart.

The tramway is an excellent way to go to the top of the mountain and gave great expansive views of Wallowa county. This is a must do if you are in the area.

The ride up/down gave us grand views of the Wallowa Valley as well as the various mountains in the area. The short trails work up a good appetite for lunch! The Summit Grill, even at the end-of-the-season, had enough food to please everyone coming in. Take your time, relax waiting for the meal and enjoy the 'views' around the summit.... More
