If you enjoy observing architecture and construction, even though this is primarily about the covered bridge, there is plenty to see. Several placards tell the interesting story of the bridge and the family who put it over this creek. Well worth the short side trip from the main highway.

Condemned, saved, moved. The backstory is readily available online & adds to its charms. It's in a lovely, wooded setting 1 mile south of Highway 18 & only a few miles east of Lincoln City. Definitely well worth a very short side trip to view a piece of local history.

Totally beautiful wooden bridge. With the falling leaves I could have been back in Maine. The creek running under the bridge was tinkly and beautiful sounding. Thank goodness this bridge was saved by a great couple. Worth the visit.

Not often do we get to see covered bridges anymore so it is worth the VERY short jaunt off the highway to see. I had not done research prior to going so I was disappointed that it had been rebuilt. However, it was not a waste of time for the photographer side of me.

A labor of love by one family and volunteers; it is located on their property and is a memory of bygone times. History is posted.

There are 51 covered bridges in Oregon. The history of covered bridges is very interesting. The Drift Creek covered bridge is close enough to visit while staying in the Lincoln City or Newport area. It makes a nice afternoon outing, and the drive to get there is pretty too!

Cool place to see, but only for 15 minutes..a beautiful creek runs under it....but that's all there is to see.

I never saw a bridge like this so it was definitely worth a quick stop. We only stayed a few minutes and took some photos. That would be my suggestion - it's only 5 min from highway 101.
