This is a beautiful 26 mile stretch of trail that follows the McKenzie River. We hiked some of it with family and did several runs ranging from 3-15 miles. Although the scenery is amazing, the trail is quite technical in places (rocks, roots, lava rock)...More

You will the McKenzie River trail on almost all top 10 trails list & this is legit. I recommend this as a bucket list trail for several reasons: 1) Scenery : lakes, waterfalls, the river, old growth forest (endless), lava flows 2) Variety : smooth...More

The trail weaves in and out of being right along the river or slightly set back from it. Either way, the forest is magical accompanied by the sounds of the running water and the smell of the forest. Great for biking, running, or just strolling....More

Accessible by the 91 bus from Eugene, this trail is reasonably well sign posted. If coming by bus, get off at the ranger station - last stop. The trail is quite narrow and meanders through the moss covered forest besides the river or within earshot...More
