Two building full of all things aviational -- planes, shuttles, air suits, gear. World War II, Spruce Goose -- it is just amazing the variety of planes here. Open air space museum with guided tours or self wandering.

Arriving at the complex one sees large commercial airplanes on top of the hangars! One museum houses the Howard Hughes designed spruce goose as the center piece. The airplanes in the hangar are private and WWII from both theaters. The displays have information and story boards explaining almost every 'bird'. There are many other associated artifacts and memorials within the... More

This is a very beautiful place with some amazing planes. From the Spruce Goose to its incredible collection of WWII airplanes, I found the place to be of very high quality. I was very surprised at the size and quality of this place. The space museum was also very good. My only negative is the admission price. At $25 per... More

Great air museum that reminded us of the Smithsonian in DC. Spruce Goose is one of the attractions, but there is so much more. Make sure to go to the movie presentation in the second building, really good. Space museum area was very educational and enlightening, reminded us of a similar one in Hutchinson, KS. Lots of walking and too... More

When you hear the name McMinnville you don't normally think of big - this place was huge. So many different activities including a water park with slides coming out the side of a 747. The volunteers were eager to explain things about the different aircraft, builders, highlights, etc. Too bad my brain doesn't retain as much as it used to.... More

We began our two week motorcycle trip down the Pacific Coast Highway in Portland, Oregon but we could not leave the area without visiting Howard Hughes "Spruce Goose" at the Evergreen Aviation museum. We weren't disappointed . There was a 747 on top of the building as we entered the parking lot. There is plenty of parking for RVs and... More

It's been years since I last toured the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum, and I was eager to see the Spruce Goose again after reading articles about the aircraft and the museum recently. Today I was accompanied by friends whose ages included teenagers and an elder in his 90s. We all enjoyed both museums and delighted in seeing the adjacent... More

We were driving out to the wine area in Oregon near McMinnville when we saw these buildings and planes and tanks. We decided to investigate and ended up spending 4 hours enjoying these two museums. There as also a water slide park in another adjacent building so there really is something for everyone. The control room down the stairs by... More

We didn't expect to be entranced by this museum but were and already are planning a trip back to it for a longer stay. The Spruce Goose display and accompanying film was very well done. Amazing feat of engineering. There are so many other planes, space exhibits, and displays that it is very hard to get through both buildings on... More
