For a small effort in driving up the old road the views are spectacular. You can also go for a walk on a shortish trail, about 2 miles round trip. It was much better than we expected from what we had been able to research online

Cherry Wonderdog thoroughly enjoyed the Rowena Crest Viewpoint. It showcased the beauty of the Columbia River Gorge, with sweeping views of the river, rolling hills, and colorful wildflowers, The drive along the Historic Columbia River Highway to reach Rowena Crest was equally enchanting, with scenic vistas and winding roads that enhanced the overall experience. Bottom line: whether you're an avid photographer or simply a nature enthusiast, Cherry Wonderdog believes Rowena Crest Viewpoint promises breathtaking views and a memorable encounter with the region's natural splendor.

Amazing views and a lovely walk. It is well worth the time and effort to find this lookout. But, the wind is strong and you'll need to dress accordingly.

Whatever you do make sure you stop here for fab views across the Columbia river gorge. It can get busy but you will find a spot to park.

Nobody drives carefully in this stretch. There is a real danger of accident. We think the views are ok.

Amazingly beautiful drive along the river bluffs. If you are in Hood River or the Dalles this is an easy drive and really shows off the transition from rain forest to high plains along the Columbia.

Quite the ride to get to this viewpoint along the Columbia River Gorge. But what a view from the top. We were there on a.bsry windy day and put on two jackets.each.

Gorgeous views, but almost as quickly as we got out of the car to snap some pics and moved towards the sign discussing the overlook (which looked like it had been shot at) there were hundreds of tiny bugs that descended upon me that were all over my back, hair and no matter how much I flicked them off they came back... I literally was running around the overlook trying to get hundreds of little bugs off me and ran back to the car in a fury once it seemed most were off. Don't know if they were bugs that bite, but wasn't taking the chance since I was covered in them
Only because I was attacked did I down grade the rating.... views are gorgeous, but being attacked by bugs made it a VERY short visit

I’d heard about Rowen’s Crest, but not until you drive to it can you truly experience its magnificent views. We stopped in Mosier and got picnic food to enjoy on a bench at the Crest. Be sure to take time to see all the panoramas in every direction.
