Scam. Paid $1000 deposit for a 10 hour charter. Reserved the entire boat months in advance. Walked in the day before and confirmed the reservations and times. The next day, while unpacking the car at 6 am for a 7am departure, my wife came out of their office and said the captain left at 530! The woman at they desk was rude. This is appalling behavior for a business, and it seems like they are not being forthcoming or truthfully about why they canceled our trip. Did someone give them more money? We had to fight with them to get our deposit back because they said we missed our 530 departure--they said they called to say the time changed, which is untrue. No boats leave at 530, and you have to show up an hour early to board at 430. That is ridiculous, and not how reservations work. We did everything we could to make sure we had all the information correct. They just decided not to honor our contract. We wanted our family trip to be memorial, and unfortunately, it is.

My wife and I had a wonderful time bottom fishing out of Newport. The crew was very experienced, friendly and helpful with getting the fish and crab in the boat. But keep in mind if you've never been in open ocean be prepared for a lot of movement if the ocean is rough that day.

Capt Dave with Gage and Jake on the Enterprise are Great! Get you on fish and have fun! Capt Chet and Robert are every bit as good on the Illwaco Indian, it's a great experience, we've exclusively used Tradewinds Newport for over a decade twice a year when we can... Shout out to Vanessa and Judy for filleting, and Amy on the vacuum packing! Love you guys!

Captain admitted he hadn’t been on the boat for a long time. We spent hours just boating around. The only deck hand was a newby, our lines were tangled and the captain wouldn’t let us touch the rods. I spent over an hour watching my line only to learn the lure was gone! Don’t go with these guys!

It was a beautiful day. We caught plenty of rockfish. Captain made sure everyone caught their limit. There were 17 people on board, 10 people paid to fish for crab. The deal is that the crab was to be split evenly among all those who paid for a crab pot. We caught 73 crabs that should have been split 10 ways 7 apiece. We got 4.5 crabs. We asked about it but we were told that that was the office had instructed the crab cookers/cleaners to do. Feel a little ripped off there. May be a communication error but it would have been nice if they double checked. If it weren't for that, I'd be giving a 5 star.

Arron and makala interacted with us like family which makes it fun we limited on sea bass caught a 36" ling and a 27 " ling so can't complain actually going again next week with my wife went with daughter and cousins last time have took all my nephew's too quite the adventure. thanks too everyone

Captain Rick and mate Aaron treated us very well. Rick worked hard to find us spots with biting fish.
We came home with a decent haul.
The services on the dock to clean fish and steam crabs are very helpful and very inexpensive.

We had 5 children with us, under the age of 12, and it was awesome. The captain and hand were patient and very kind. Thank you so much for an awesome experience, we hope to come back. Highly recommend this captain and ship. Customer service was top-notch, thank you again for all the hard work that goes into making this happen. The ladies were also very kind, and helpful. Cannot say thank you enough!

Did not feel safe on boat called Misty. Captain was terrible safety lecture was a joke. First mate better. Ladies in office are the two most confused people I ever met. Could not even add correctly. Get ready for lots of hidden charges. Find another boat for sure.

Went on trade winds, sea pirate. Deck hand Andrew was super good. Super organized, drop leaders pre tied with large row of spares neatly laid out. Crabbing, this guy operates like a machine. You often find yourself wanting to help deck hands w various aspects of the crab, no need with this guy. He has them all set in under 18 minutes ( 15 pots) picking them up is the same he quickly loads the block for clients to pull. Captain Dylan worked hard, he put us on fish, he definitely knows how to set a drift, maintain it, and set on it until it’s played out. Boat did not limit on rock fish but likely because 8 of the 13 people on board looked pretty new to it, though they still did catch and captain worked the rails like he should and helped them learn, as did Andrew. Not uptight atmosphere, no visible tension, crew made it fun for the guests. I travel Oregon coast doing charter after charter, this boat is a solid for rock fish.
