Expensive way to spend an hour
Ok...some displays shut down due to COVID..tickets a bit spendy for what they do have interesting typical Ripley things. Also went to The Wax Museum..not worth it..half the displays look nothing like the person and half closed down due to "repairs and COVID" combination ticket price VERY high

Completely Updated, Though a Mixed Bag
This and the adjoining wax museum has been around for decades. They both saw an extensive renovation this year, with mixed results. If you are casual fan and I’ve never been here before, it’s a fun tourist attraction with plenty of novelty. If you’re familiar with the previous shows, Ripley’s has been completely overhauled into a brighter, more modern interactive experience. Gone is the sense of shadowy adventure and historical mystery, replaced with social-media sensibilities and avoidance of anything distressing or too unusual. The wax museum, however, has a lot of changes but not necessarily for the better. Now it is mostly pop culture characters, rather than real people from history. This is fine occasionally (like with their Marvel characters) but their inclusion of horror characters from the 70s and 80s feels both outdated and less interesting. Plus, some of the previous figures that didn’t work well at all – I’m looking at you Sacajawea – are still there. So it is definitely updated, and feels more professional on a certain level, but this old-timer feels it lost a little bit of its feeling of mystery and wonder in exchange for brightly-lit cultural icons.

    Interestingly weird
Interesting collection of weird and odd things from around the world. Some real and a few fakes. Lots of interactive things break up the museum feel and create a fun environment. We only did the Ripley's side and not the wax portion and it took us just under 2 hours. A little pricey but worth it if you are looking for something fun to do out of the rain.

This may sound like a cheesy tourist trap but it is really a very fun way to spend a few hours, especially with children. There are many unique, interesting and fun things to see and do inside. We've visited here many times and always enjoy it.

Kids had a great time seeing the wax figures and believe it or not stuff. They were very interesting.

It's older and a bit dated now. Expensive to see all that is offered and doesn't take long to go through. Reading is a huge deal here and some displays cheesy. Kids might find it fun but the older adult may think it's a waste of money.

Ripley's Newport is a wonderfully classic Ripley's attraction. If you are a fan, you know what you are getting. If you are not, you will get a variety of interactive exhibits, strange art, unusual animals, local lore, and historic oddities. This one has a more classic feel - like something you'd find at Ripley's museums in the 90s. It does not have as many flashy displays as you would see in big cities. That is completely ok with me as it is fun to see the variation across attractions. You should definitely add the quirky wax museum on as a small upcharge to your ticket. It will take you a couple of hours to work through both attractions. As a lover of roadside attractions, it is great to see a Ripley's on the Oregon Coast, which is fairly sparse on classic roadside attractions.

I grudgingly went here with my 13 year old son thinking it was just another tourist trap. However, I have to say it was a fun time. It took about 45 minutes to get through and it was modern and well renovated. It costs about $20 a person and you can add the wax museum for another $5. The wax museum was equally as impressive. I had a $5 discount so it cost about $65 for myself, wife and son to do the two sections. Not to bad for and hour and a half of fun.

I have very fond memories of this from the trips we took here when I was a boy and was excited to share this with my son. It has changed over the years but is still the quirky and fun museum I was so fond of. There were several exhibits my son loved. We had a fun visit.

Not sure what the big deal is. Somewhat interesting but felt like we were at a carnival side show. It's expensive too. Would rather spend my time at the beach, visiting tide pool, kayaking, going to the many parks . . . .

Ripley’s is always an experience, regardless of the town you see it in! The one here in Newport, OR is organized especially well, lots of wacky exhibits and odd trivia. Go in with an open mind and just have fun in all the silliness.
Kind of expensive for those looking for a quick look but if you have the time to read all the descriptions, play with the interactive exhibits and use the MANY photo ops sprinkled throughout, worth the price of admission.
