- jaimeelsabioMaryland4,308 contributionsNice for a short visitWe hadn’t planned on stopping at the lighthouse, but decided to visit at the last minute. Since one couldn’t go in the lighthouse itself, walking around the grounds didn’t take long. The grounds and lighthouse are well maintained.Visited February 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten February 1, 2023
- 2rollonCalifornia522 contributionsFoggy coastal DayFriend and I were in the area exploring and I live lighthouses. Out side of the cold damp day the was a very nice lighthouse and surrounding area was scenic. If you go to the lighthouse and I highly recommend you do make sure you visit the tide pools also.Visited June 2023Travelled with friendsWritten June 20, 2023
- MelvinPusfingerTemecula, California596 contributionsWell worth a visitIf you were in the area of Newport or Depoe Bay, this lighthouse, and the surrounding State Park area are well worth a visit. Seven dollars admission and well worth it. The first stop is the interpretive center. Thereafter, you drive to the lighthouse. Parking can sometimes be a challenge but if you wait a while you will find a spot. The lighthouse is automated, and there is no entrance. But you can get nice photographs of the lighthouse and the coast line. And there are stairs down to the beach and the tide pools. All in all a very pleasant time here.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten June 21, 2023

The yaquina bay lighthouse has so much history of the town. You are able to tour the home below the lighthouse to see historical facts. Hours of operation are from 12 to 4 beautiful sites and views

Great piece of working history. Eventhough it was closed due to weather and king tides we were still able to get some good pictures. Learning the history of this lighthouse was interesting. Worth the stop.

We walked around this area, looked at the lighthouse and the bridge. It seemed there are many trails here, we walked one of these that leading to the river, it leads a sand dune area, very interesting.

There is a bit of a walk to get to the lighthouse but the path is good and several park rangers available to answer questions.

According to the Website for the Park, "Pets may accompany visitors on trails and walkways except near the lighthouse and in the Cobble Beach tide pools. They must be leashed and under physical control at all times; owners are responsible for pick-up and proper disposal of pet waste."
