I visited this shop while visiting Oregon about a week ago. Initially, when looking at the kites a recommendation was given for a kite but I made the bad decision to go cheaper. That was a mistake. The kite I chose was not the right kind to fly on the beach in strong wind. I called the shop and asked if I could upgrade to the kite that was recommended. The owner said yes and long story short the next few days we had so much fun flying our kite. It is durable and beautiful and so easy to fly. My kids had a great time. Thank you so much Kite Company for being knowledgeable and nice.

the owner is a long time kite pro. he spent an hour with me in the shop giving free flyting tips and discussing places to fly, made me a custom set of lines. great selection of pretty much any kind of kite and really great prices. i asked if i could pay for some private lessons, and he said he doesnt charge for lessons. just loves anything kites. definitely will be going back. he also does repairs.

The owner was very helpful, friendly , and knowledgeable. He answered all my questions and suggested possible kites to purchase for different functionalities and capabilities. Ended up buying a single line, rotating box kite.

If you want to try beach kite flying, this is the place to get your kite AND information about the kind of kite. They vary in performance and use. Careful on the high wind days, some are strong enough to drag a full grown man down the beach! (or woman) Experientially speaking!

These guys (The Kite Company) were so AWESOME this last weekend. We walked in with our 10 year old son and told them we needed an inexpensive, easy kite, that we would easily fly and store. KEITH stepped right up and showed us exactly what we needed. It was super easy to assemble and it flew instantly every time. GREAT KITE FLYING at the Oregon Coast courtesy of THE KITE COMPANY!

We went in looking for basic kites for the beach but got so much more. The staff was friendly, helpful and helped us find the perfect kites for our children. They prices were fair and were happy to support local businesses. They even told us they would stay open later if we needed more time. They also have wind chimes, flags and outdoor toys. We’ve been using our kites at the beach this week and they have flown beautifully. I feel bad for the folks here with the “cheap” big box store kites as ours were so easy to use, assemble, fly and put away. Would highly recommend as an stop and a future activity. We had never flown kites before and feel like experts. Our children are 9 and 11 and easily fly these quality kites by themselves. Stop in today!

We wanted a special kite for our grandson and this place had plenty to choose from. The worker was very helpful and knew a lot about the products to help us with out decision. I would recommend shopping here.

I've been here a few times and bought two kites from them. They are always ready to help and offer suggestions if you don't know what to get. They have a great selections of kites from the little ones kids would use to the big power kites that will drag a full sized adult around (I plan on buying one of those soon!) Prices for kites range from about $20 to several hundred dollars for the big power kites. Highly recommended!

Spent a day at Nye Beach over the 4th of July, it was pretty windy so I thought I'd get a kite. The staff was excellent, helped my pick out a kite suitable for expected conditions and then gave an outstanding tutorial. They have a large selection of all things windy!

A nice shop with a great selection and a knowledgeable staff. The prices are fair and they range from affordable practice kites to super expensive professional style kites. Best place around to find what you're looking for.
