- Gabrielle R461 contributionsGorgeous!Beautiful waterfall, canyon, and hiking. It’s very accessible right off the parking lot, so very high value for the effort. You can get even better views if you are up to a hike. Parking lot and access are closed in winter.Visited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten October 31, 2023
- WildwoodatheartSanta Rosa, California926 contributionsBeautiful Falls right off the road. This is a lovely and quick stop off the roadway. Its an easy walk from parking to the falls, and it is handicap accessible. It is also dog friendly (on leash). The falls are very pretty, and you can get several different views from the top. There is a trail that goes down to the bottom, but we didn't want to attempt it in 100 degree weather. (It is a long climb down, and even harder going back up). This was well worth the quick detour.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten July 29, 2024
- fredinmnWoodbury, Minnesota462 contributionsJust spectacular!Just by chance, we pulled over to see Salt Creek Falls on our drive on highway 58. If it wasn't for the brown and white sign that said veer right for a waterfall, we would have missed it. To see the top of the falls is a minute or so walk from your car. It amazing. Even more amazing is hiking down to the bottom of the falls. The hike is on a well-defined trail and isn't extremely difficult. So worth the trip to the bottom to see it. Just spectacular! I would highly recommend ... it's well worth the $5 daily parking fee.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten September 3, 2024
- Sara G.Saint Louis, Missouri771 contributionsBeautiful surprise right off the roadWhat a great surprise right off the road. There is hardly no walk to see this jewel. This is the second tallest waterfall in Oregon! This beauty plunges 286 feet and is surrounded by lush, green scenery. The roar of the water and the mist —absolutely magical.Visited September 2024Travelled with familyWritten September 20, 2024

We stopped here on our vacation through the Pacific Northwest. There is a short walk to get to he falls, but it is fairly easy. The waterfall was beautiful and definitely worth the stop. It costs $5 or if you have the National Park Annual Pass, it will cover it.

I've visited this waterfall many times over the years, and it never fails to impress. The hike to the view point at the top is extremely short and easy. The falls can also be briefly viewed from the highway right before the tunnel when heading to Oakridge.

Just off the highway and for those that do not want to hike you can view it from above. But to those that are willing to hike just a bit you can go to the base of the falls and OH MY - it is a stunner. So big you can't get it in the camera from that angle - your memories will have to do.
Surrounded by lush green folliage and water just pounding down, a wonderful show by mother nature! Plenty of parking at the top and a bathroom there as well. Worth the trip!

We took the ride over to Salt Creek Falls after our drive on the Cascades Lakes Byway. Totally worth it! This is a really nice waterfall, with some very good views after a short walk from the parking lot. Do this if you are nearby.

We stopped and walk the trails around the waterfall on our way to Crater Lake. There are many great views along the upper trail to see the falls and get great views. We took lots of pictures from different angles and they are all good. But the best views are from below looking up at the falls. The trail is an uphill trek coming back but we both felt like it was definitely worth it afterwards. If you can walk to the bottom do it.

We were on motorcycles when we spotted the sign for the Salt Creek Falls. It's just off the highway and definitely worth a peek. We walked the 3 mild hiking loop. Fairly easy. The falls is reported to be the second tallest falls in Oregon. It's gorgeous!

Like to visit Salt Creek Falls on March 18, 2017. How is the weather and are the roads open
Written February 26, 2017
Depends on how much snow we had. My bet would be there would be a good chance the turnoff road to the falls will still be closed, but the Hwy going over will be clear.
