We decided to take a drive one Sunday and drove to Cape Blanco we walked up to the lighthouse and around the grounds. The view was breathtaking. We also went on a tour through the historical Hughes house. Which was very interesting and educational. It's always fun learning about the local history in the area.

My brothers and I spent the week at Cape Blanco State park. We rented a cabin (Falcon) that was very minimal (only beds, lights, table and heater) but enough for us. It was nice to have a solid structure since we went during the rainy season. The community bathrooms were a little bit of a hike but well kept. Our... More

I was a little hesitant to make such a long detour from Highway 101- we were on a limited time schedule after all, however it was SO worth it. My wife described the roadway as something that belonged to time past, with scenic fields and a narrow winding roadway. She thought it reminded her of something from Downton Abbey or... More

This park doesn't take reservations so you take your chance that you will get a camping spot. If you wait too late in the day, you might find a full camp. We found our spot and stayed two nights. The camp is well maintained with lots of foilage around the camp sites to give privacy. Helpful camp hosts on site.

It's all first come first serve and there were plenty who came and for good reason! Campground is beautifully secluded in the tall fir trees atop cape blanco. 50amp electrical, water hookups and paved spaces make for easy stays. There's a road down to the beach from the camping loop, and the trail to the lighthouse starts from a parking... More

Great state park. The camp spots were very wooded and private. The hosts are very friendly. There are nice trails to hike on.

Had a wonderful trip with our whole family. Rented 3 cabins. Campground was clean and quite. Bathrooms are a hike. We did many beach trips and hiking trips, dogs and kids alike enjoyed.

The weather here is pretty harsh but we woke up to a beautiful morning. We only stayed one night in a cabin. It was comfortable with a view of the ocean. It is just a short drive to the beach or lighthouse. The bunk bed did smell of mildew but not surprising since it is a wet place. Good spot... More

Intended to stay here one night and ended up staying 3 nights. Beautiful forested State park with amenities including firewood, heated washrooms and showers and full hookups for RV's. Walking trails are numerous and there is a lookout within the Park that is breathtaking and where you can watch gray whales passing by in the waves below. For horseback riding... More

The campground is very well arranged with large sites with or w/o hook ups. The park staff are very friendly and helpful! There are cabins to rent if you desire. The beaches are really awesome with big off shore rocks, birds and other wildlife. Often it is windy, but on a sunny day it makes hiking the beaches pleasant. One... More
