You can literally find all kinds of books here, the place is huge, the best part is they buy used books. You can browse here the whole day and forget about the time. Book Heaven.

Worth a special trip across town to see. My son is studying Japanese so I got him books poetry some in translation and some in Japanese. Great variety and has used books too.

This is like the Louvre of book stores. It's amazing. Just watch out for the aggressive panhandlers.

Visited just for an hour, but was impressed by the offered varieties of books. Nicely grouped by themes it was quite easy to find interesting themes. And the size of this place is huge.

The cafe is really neat. Very 'reader friendly'. You don't have to purchase books in order to enjoy them. Because of this, you can't enter or exit through the cafe, though. The book selection is the best I've seen in person and the rare books...More

The books!! So many books. Book heaven. I could live there and never leave. New books. Old books. Books I haven’t seen since I was a kid. I could have spend my entire vacation just browsing and reading.

Definitely worth visiting. Biggest bookstore I’ve ever seen. Easy to find what you’re looking for with the onsite computer. They list what they have in new or used versions- I thought that was so great that they offer used versions! They have lots of cutsie...More

Awesome place. So many books and such a selection. You can get lost in Powell’s with all its rooms and floors filled with books. Even has a rare book room open from 11am-7pm. Try to visit if you can. Highly recommended.

They have a parking lot! I also usually find parking on the street a couple blocks to the west. And, I often combine Powell's with a stop at Whole Foods, so I park at Whole Foods, go to Powell's, come back to WF and buy what... More
