This bookstore is HUGE, with books for all interests. The coffee shop inside is pretty good too. This reminds me of Half Priced Books in how the shelves are set up and the overall look and feel. Clearly Powell's is on a much grander scale, but it's along the same idea. I really loved all of the little gift items... More

Powell's bookstore is amazing. It's huge and encompasses both new and used books of every description. Give yourself lots of time to browse.

Got so excited to explore this giant color coded building, I almost put more in my bag than I could take home on the plane. So many books, so many subjects, it is hard to just drop in quickly and browse. A clear plan is needed here. Lots of ways to find information, but I do wish it was easier... More

Powells is an amazing place that one can get lost in. The hardest part of it is not losing track of time. So wish there was a Powells in every city!

One of the greatest pleasures in life is the promise of an amazing story when you start a new book, and Powell's is a shrine, a temple, the holy church to all those that share my sentiment. It's absolutely mind boggling how big and encompassing this place is.  I've never seen so many aisles of books, not even at a... More

We took an out-of-town friend here. She was in awe by this place! This is the largest bookstore I've ever seen and it's so well laid out and organized. Their signage makes it so easy to zero in on what one's looking for.

Cool book shop that's a destination unto itself. Great book recommendations by the staff! The merchandise is cool and the coffee shop is great to sit down and just relax for a while with whichever book you want to peruse.

We love Powell's. There are so many genres and sub-genres that you could stay busy for hours perusing if you would like. I also bought my favorite mug ever there-a yellow Powell's mug that is big and sits comfortably in my hands. :)

A multi-level book temple. Even if you don't like books you should check it out and savor the wide assortment of people that still believe in the written word.
