Powell's is one of the 'must see' places in Portland. If you are a book lover, there are few places in the world that can rival the selection, energy and variety in this store. There are branches too (one is in the airport), which specialize in things like cooking. The main store is right on Burnside--close to the Armory, Pearl... More

If you love books you will never want to leave Powells bookstore. And you could spend days they're going to the many levels and many sections of the store. Something for everyone and more

Powell's is remarkable. If you can't find the book you are looking for, they will find it, and order it for you. I love holding a real book while reading. My wife feels the same so when we need the comfort of a good read, we head to Powell's. If you are visiting Portland or the surrounding area, this is... More

This place is fantastic. I have been coming to Powell's for over 30 years and still love the place!! I always leave with a sack of books. My staff knew how much I loved the place and when I retired, they gave me a Powell's gift card. I have spent hours shopping and just browsing the book selection. I now... More

I was impressed with this place. So much to see for so many age groups. My daughter had a great time and the prices are reasonable. It's a must see for everyone.

Not like any other book store. There are 4-5 floors full of new and used books. Hundreds of catagories all color coded for easy access. Then you can sit in their coffee shop and read. Great book store

Powell's has a most amazing selection of both new and used books. This gives access to valuable titles that are not even in print.

This is a vast labyrinth of bookshelves across various floors and a few buildings which have been joined together over the years. The choice is huge and there are people who will help you find what you are looking for or order it if you want. There is a cafe as well.
