The Cantors from LA, for whom a gallery is named at the MET, has lent the Portland Art Museum a selection of images from their private collection. It is a gem.

After visiting once, I became a member. This is a wonderful museum set in a very beautiful part of the city. The museum gift shop is one of my favorite places to shop for that person who seems to have everything. The staff is friendly and helpful.

We went there on a cold January day with friends who had just moved to Portland. They loved it so much that they joined the museum right away. Seeing beautiful art was a given, but who knew how nice it would be just to walk around this lovely museum.

Very large museum. Plan on seeing just part each time. Seriously consider a membership if you get to Portland more than twice a year. The older exhibits are classic and great for teaching art appreciation and through the centuries of Europe. The Asian experience in the Pacific Northwest and modern Native artists are much more interesting. What ever special is... More

This art museum does an excellent job in it's displays and explanations; it also has opened up more display space since we were last here a few years ago. The Chinese exhibit from the early dynasties (Chu and Han) was outstanding as was the Rodin collection.

It was rainy again and I had a free admission with my Bank of America card. With a Bank of America card you can be admitted free to some selected museums across the nation on the first weekend of each month. I saved $19.99. The special exhibition of Rodin was excellent. I spent a lot of time there. Also I... More

We arrived at 4pm, an hour before closing and should had allowed at least two hours to see more of the exhibits. We were impressed by the fine silver upstairs and the paintings, but completely missed the African American art since we spent more time on the Rodin bronzes downstairs. Our friend said that the African American art collection is... More

Spent part of a rainy afternoon at this museum. Very nice. Exhibits are located on 3-4 different floors in two connecting buildings. Ramps and elevators available for those unable to walk up steps. Very helpful staff.

We visited the PAM this past week and it was really a good visit. The main exhibit was Rodin and there were many, many pieces beautifully displayed. I also really enjoyed the display of vintage Japanese children's kimono. I have been to PAM many times but it was the first visit for my friend so I enjoyed revisiting the excellent... More
