We took a tour with a Decent who was very pleasant and entertaining. Her focus was on animals for the 1 hour tour, and we spend time afterward enjoying the rest of the museum.

If you are in Portland in March, when it still feels like the cool temperatures of winter, and it is endless rain all about you, what better "dry spot" to find warmth, richness, and brilliant creativity to stir "the little gray cells" than the Portland Art Museum: TWO cavernous buildings, with amazing exhibits, installed maze-like, four floors each. Portland public... More

We visited the Contemporary Arts wing during our visit, and were surprised by some of the "giants" of the art world who were represented within. Some really terrific work on display throughout - with one notable exception. On the top floor, there is a video piece playing on two screens. The sound is repetitive & annoying, and we couldn't get... More

The Cantors from LA, for whom a gallery is named at the MET, has lent the Portland Art Museum a selection of images from their private collection. It is a gem.

After visiting once, I became a member. This is a wonderful museum set in a very beautiful part of the city. The museum gift shop is one of my favorite places to shop for that person who seems to have everything. The staff is friendly and helpful.

We went there on a cold January day with friends who had just moved to Portland. They loved it so much that they joined the museum right away. Seeing beautiful art was a given, but who knew how nice it would be just to walk around this lovely museum.
