Took my parents here during their visit to Portland. Great views of the city from the yard. Loved reading the history of the home and viewing the beautiful architecture, especially the various ceiling designs. Only disappointing part was the furnishings weren't a part of the homes original look.

What a beautiful place! This is a must see. We went in late November, so the mansion was decked out for Christmas. The staff was so friendly and even let my husband (he is a professional musician) play the Steinway piano that Mr. Pittock purchased for the family in 1896. Everyone loved the mini concert.

This fat girl was definitely not going to take the bus up to the "park" (which, by the way people, is A FOREST) and then hike uphill for a mile. Nope. Instead, I took a Lyft that meandered downhill and uphill through an oxbow of residential "road" until we came upon the parking lot of the Pittock Mansion. Admission is... More

The guides here do a magnificent job of bringing this home and its inhabitants to life. They are very knowledgable as well as interesting. They were attentive to our need for an elevator and even gave us more family history about that! It was a beautiful house and an interesting family and the grounds and views were also spectacular.

Pittock is located along a great hiking trail. It would be fun to park at lower elevation, hike to the mansion, picnic on the grounds, pay to take the tour, and then hike down. Despite a rainy day, the trail had such a lush canopy that I didn't get as wet as I expected. Beautiful mansion.

It's a nice big house that sits on a hill. The history is only mildly interesting. I supposed the most exciting thing about it is... it was used in a predictable Wilhelm Dafoe/ Madonna movie whose title escapes me.

I love the historical features and how each room is arranged like stepping back through time. The view of Portland from the grounds is amazing! Love this place. I always did like the historical buildings as there was so much detail and workmanship that went into the features. The shower stall was so amazing, like ahead of its time with... More

Self guided or if you get a docent is nice, too. I was lucky enough for the twice a year behind the scenes tour. Toured front of house, then behind. Very interesting. A nice diversion to get out of downtown and not far at all to go.
