Tryon Creek State Park is a treasure! Miles of hiking through beautiful forest and natural areas make you feel like you are so far away from the city. In fact you are within the city limits! The only drawback can be when bus loads of...More

The perfect place to come for a brisk hike through the woods. The trails are very well maintained and the air is fresh. If you have dogs, this is a great place to take them, but be mindful to keep them on a leash.

The park is absolutely gorgeous with flat wide trails or hilly narrow trails. Our dog loved it. It is free and has restrooms. There is mild road noise from roads outside the park at certain places in the park..

Many fun trails to walk along, and also enjoy the headquarters displays. Nice for your dog,as long as it is leashed, and YOU PICK UP after it.

This is a state park within the city limits of Portland. It contains a small interpretive center and several miles of hiking trails. The highlight of our hike was spotting a Northwestern Salamander right on our trail. I'd never seen one before and it was...More

Tyron Creek State Park is one of my favorite parks in Portland. On a hot summer’s day, one can walk nature trails in the shade. The park has trails for horse back riding, hiking paths, a great creek, suspension bridge and a nature center. Not...More

One of my favorite places to wander in Portland! It has long trails and even has horse trails. It can be busy at the weekend and parking can be scare in the summer!

A heavily treed natural area within city limits. Well marked paved trails that go up and down the ravine past Tryon Creek. Great place to take the family for a nature walk. The Nature Center has your typical taxidermied critters. They offer talks and tours...More

This is one of the most lush places I have ever visited! The shades of green, moss, and scenery was head-turning! Stunning beauty all around, nice hiking.

Tryon Creek State Park remains a great place for a forest hike tucked away in the City of Portland. You can do a full on hike and never leave the City...while not in complete solitude you will forget that you are not in the Cascade...More

All of the trails are short with ease of walking. The trails are fine for even electric wheelchairs-- to some degree.
