One of my very favorite places to go, any time of the year. Meandering trails, beautiful rhodies, and other flora, large lake, lots of ducks. So much to look at, the setting is just gorgeous, shaded, so perfect on a hot day. Just yourself a...More

This park is an amazing urban garden. It's full of lovely ponds, flowers and trails that are beautifully maintained. The garden isn't in the super hectic neighborhood but Crystal Springs is a restful urban oasis. It's a fantastic option if you're looking for a place...More

This is a beautiful park. It has lovely brooks and great wildlife that aren’t afraid of people! I loved the the small water cascades and the beautiful fall flowers. Some areas were more handicap accessible than others. However, there was always another way to get...More

The Crystal Springs Rhodedondrom Garden was quite lovely. Since we came by during the non-blooming season we didn't pay for admission but we also saw few flowers. The garden itself is very pretty and well maintained. It's a great place to bring kids for a...More

Best visited in spring time, when rhododendrons are in an abundant bloom. All ponds, bridges, walkways, little waterfalls look absolutely natural. Bird lovers will find a variety of birds - both singing and water foul. Besides rhododendrons, there is a large variety of plants, including...More

Every year the Rhodies are on sale for Mother's Day weekend, so it's very busy then. Otherwise, the winding paths and expansive pond provide wonderous view opportunities for families and kids!

I was there in April which was just a little early for many of the Rhodies. Regardless, it was a lovely park - one that I don't think gets as much attention as the rose gardens. The Japanese maples were gorgeous. I recommend stopping here,...More

If you have an hour to kill, this is a peaceful retreat located near Reed College in SE Portland. Often flocks of ducks and an occasional swan will join you.

There is also no admission charged prior to 10AM, if you can get them there early enough, or after 6PM. The park itself is open dawn to dusk. So you still have an opportunity on Fridays.
