I always enjoy the Oregon Zoo. It is my local zoo, so I may be a bit biased, but it really is an excellent zoo. They consistently win awards in areas of conservation, environmentalism and habitat design. They are currently in the process of a...More

It’s a lovely zoo placed in the forest. Lots of shade. A bit hilly and winding, so fit within the terrain. Some exhibits are under construction, so be advised to prepare for this. Very education focused. As with most zoos, lots of toddlers and strollers,...More

This was our first visit to the zoo. The zoo is large enough to spend a few hours but the hassle of this zoo was parking. We got there around noon on a Saturday and we had to drive around for probably twenty minutes before...More

This is a tale of positives and negatives. I am an older adult and visited with 2 other also older adults on a cold, rainy day in April. The cold and rain were tolerable and we were dressed for it. There were a few places...More

The zoo was good. Lots of animals to see, nice enclosures for the animals. The elephants even had indoor space. This was very cold though as most of it is outside. I would suggest going in the summer months when it’s warmer.

This is a popular very clean zoo where animals seen healthy and well cared for. There is a state of the art veterinary clinic/hospital on the grounds for all the animals. The train is cute albeit a fairly short ride. Interactive exhibits are plentiful for...More

I've been going to this Zoo since childhood. It's familiar. It's pretty typical. Nothing special but always a nice time. As with any Zoo many of the animals are sleeping during mid-day, so can't be seen. I'm a firm believer in visiting during feeding times...More

Ideally, mid Spring and summer is the best time to visit. Most of the animals are outside and if you don't mind getting wet and cold, then it's OK to visit in winter.
