We stopped by and just walked the main area and visited the chapel. The chapel had wonderful music playing that was very soft. We only spent half an hour there and did not go up to the upper level as we did not want to...More

If I lived in Portland this would be my escape from the hustle and bustle world. It is peaceful and relaxing. Yes it is a Catholic site but one can still enjoy the peace and quite here. The $6 for the upper gardens was well...More

A wonderful place to escape into your own thoughts and contemplate a life decision or just enjoy the peacefulness.

Wonderful way to spend a couple of hours or so. The Grotto is quite lovely and mostly peaceful. Unfortunately, there was an extended family with kids and teens that may have thought it was a park. They were extremely loud and disruptive.

This is very shady for a summer visit and dogs are allowed on the lower level only which is free. A nice place for prayer.

Nobody I know who has spent any time in Portland knew about this. The grounds were gorgeous. Definitely take the time to go to the upper level.
