We walked around the Pearl District on a rainy/cloudy weekend. We had great fun! Went to the Saturday Market on Sunday! Walked to the water. Went to several shops. Great restaurants. Wonderful Hotel! The people we rant into were extremely nice.

Our first stop in the Pearl District was Powell's Books, an amazingly large bookstore. We then went to Deschute's Brewery for lunch and walked around the area. Plenty more places to eat, drink, and shop.

Portland is catching up with Seattle when it comes to artisanal house-roasted coffee, and you'll find a number of great spots, along with hip restaurants. Plus Powell's Books, the best indie book store in the world. Check out made-in-Portland artisanal objects from leather backpacks and...More

The Pearl District is hip and that means hipsters or "people in the know". This is a compliment because this area of Portland land has great restaurants, cafes, boutiques shops and very diverse art scene. What they don't have a lot of... parking. Good luck...More

Visited the Pearl District on a recent visit to Portland. Powell's Books, a unique attraction itself, anchors the south end of the Pearl. Redeveloped warehouses house restaurants and boutique shops. It appears to be an ever-growing and evolving trendy area.

This is the best area to stay in Portland. Lots of shops and eats all within walking distance. It is totally safe and not riddled with homeless. Well maintained and good vibe.

Such a cool vibe in Portland. You see it best in the Pearl District. Old buildings, lovingly maintained, all kinds of occupancies. You can wander the shops, bars and restaurants for a nice cool day in Portland.

Light rail worked like a champ for us. Off the plane, walked to the platform and headed downtown. Couldn't have been easier.

There are several things to do there. We were traveling through Portland on our way to Seattle and stayed there for two days only. You only need two to three days to get your fill. I would recommend: 1. Pittock... More
