Nice are to shop, eat and live. Nice job of bringing this part of Portland into a swanky area. Good hotels, lots of places to eat and drink.

The Pearl District is a fabulous area in Portland full of restaurants, art galleries, museums, shops and beautiful architecture,. It is so fun to just spend the day strolling the area, having coffee on the corner, people watching and visiting the shops! Parking can be difficult (but it is there on street or parking garage) so take the MAX and streetcar.... More

This is one of the best area of Portland for all of the above. Easily walked, and plenty to do for hours (or just a few minutes). Don't miss.

Neat clean area with lots to interest most parties. Shopping, eating, arts, it is all here. Our favorites were Nuveri bakery, Patagonia, and Nau.

Our hotel room was incredible. It was very well designed and contained everything we needed to stay several days. The hotel is located in the heart of the Pearl District (no other hotels close by) amongst many restaurants, bars, boutiques and art galleries.

Things in the Pearl are pretty pricey so if you are looking for scrappy, edgy Portland, the Pearl is not the place to go - it has outgrown all that although you will still find plenty of homeless people wandering the Pearl. Fancy stores yes. Art galleries (check out First Thursdays)and trendy businesses in what is now expensive real estate.... More

We found great places to eat and a number of bars/brewery to try. There at night so I can't speak to any shopping.

Constantly changing, the Pearl is fast becoming more urbanized... bigger buildings with lots of construction. Still, it's a great place to explore...some nice city parks, art galleries, restaurants, microbreweries and boutiques, as well of a few larger stores like Anthropologie, Free People, Lucy, Lulu Lemon, West Elm....just to name a few. Walking everywhere is the best! Good access from downtown... More

Highly recommend eating there when you visit. They weren't really busy on weeknight in February, but the cold wind was blowing and threatening ice storm. Food is wonderful Sicilian. Loved the pasta (homemade) and the pistaschio gelato. Definitely planning on returning.
