I'm not sure that you need to go out of your way for this, but if you are in the general area, it is definitely worth a look see. Portlandia is pretty awesome when viewed from below, but is best seen from across the street.

When in Portland, try a walking tour. It's awesome to learn about the cool history of the city, including that of Portlandia. She's beautiful.

Before the show of the same name, was this unique sculpture. It kinda looks like a bronzed brown version of the Statue of Liberty. I think it looks okay, but am bothered by it's scale in relation to the building. I think it is definitely visible, but too big. Building seems under oppressive siege, despite the figure's generous pose.

I happened to notice this elegant statue in the heart of the city after a few months of downtown visits. I used to walk in front of this building most of the time and not once I looked up to see the Portlandia lady extending her arm to us. It so easy to miss this sculpture. I wish it was... More

If you think it's like going to the Statue of Liberty ... you cray. It's just thus statue on top of a building in downtown pdx and it's pretty but it is so not even a priority.

Portlandia, appropriately named, is located in downtown Portland, Oregon, above the entrance of the Portland Building, at 1120 SW 5th Avenue. It is the second-largest copper repoussé statue in the United States, with the Statue of Liberty being the first.

The second largest pounded copper statue (after the Statue of Liberty). Be sure to go across the street and up the outside escalator to view Portlandia from an awesome perspective.

Was downtown to visit the museum and on our way to eat lunch, I realized that we would be passing Portlandia as we went. I was thrilled to finally see her! It is amazing that this huge statue is sitting on a building overhead! The sun and the trees made it hard to get a really good pic of her... More

It's a fun edifice, but I don't get why it is a tourist attraction. I wouldnt go out of my way to find it.
