I wanted to see outside the city life of Portland Oregon. So me and some friends rented a car and drove to see the sites. This was one of them. It was majestic and beautiful. A must see.

We visited these falls in July and were so happy that the hike was fairly easy with a huge cascade of water at the end of the walk. Unfortunately these trails are closed at least until spring of 2018 due to wildfires. :-(

Came b/c our intended trail was blocked by wildfires. Beautiful hike. Starts off easy, but after the first waterfall, it becomes narrow and more difficult with children and for someone with limited vision, especially with it being crowded. Gorgeous falls.

This is a thoroughly enjoyable one-mile hike with a spectacular view of the falls as your reward. Although the first part of the hike is fairly flat, the second half involves uphill, a bit of downhill, twists, turns and rocks and roots. If you take...More

Other waterfalls get all the attention in the Columbia River Gorge, but this was our favorite over all the others. We didn't know about until a ranger at Bonneville Dam told us. Even several Portland locals we talked to afterward never had heard of it....More

Multnomah Falls tops most people's list of falls to see when visiting the Columbia River Gorge, but I would argue that this one is even better! A 2 mile loop hike (1 mile each way) that is easy to moderate (more easy than moderate) with...More

We showed up early and the teeny lot was already full. We parked along the side of the road, so all was not lost. It was an easy-ish hike. And the payoff was amazing! The 1st falls was very pretty. But Wahclella falls were gorgeous....More

It's a bit more off the beaten track, but it has lovely scenery along the way...and then when you get to the waterfall at the end, it's stunning. I would describe it as an advanced beginner's hike. It does have quite a climb and it's...More

I did this hike in late May, The waterfall was still very full but the trail had dried and wasn't too hard to navigate. Great place if you like to photograph waterfalls as you can get down to ground level to shoot this fall. Has...More

Posters here that mention a strenuous hike to the top are referring to Multnomah Falls. Posters mentioning Wahkeena Falls or the falls next to Multnomah Falls are NOT talking about WAHCLELLA FALLS. Wahclella Falls is a 2 mile hike (mile in, mile out) not a...More
