With two stages in the same building, ART puts on some tour-de-force performances of both contemporary and classic plays. Like O'Neill, Coward, Letts, plays based on Sherlock Holmes combined with A Christmas Carol or based on the writingswritings of Vonnegut? You'll find them here with both their own group of performers and others from all around.

This is an excellent performance of a thought-provoking play. I hesitate to attempt to state the theme because it's a complex enough play that there are probably many themes in there; let's just say it's about the role that the US financial system plays in determining events in developing countries, and the role that we, as individuals, play in the... I have been to several of the productions and each one is very well done. The seating is comfortable and intimate. The plays are always well acted. If possible pick the ones with the discussion afterward. We just saw Tribes and I think it is my all time favorite.

My daughter and I saw Blithe Spirit a couple of nights ago, our first time at Artist's Rep. We had great seats, the theater is intimate and the players are professional and so talented. I can't wait to take in another performance and soon be a member.

Alder Stage is an intimate theatre setting, and perfect for the play "Intimate Apparel". Wonderfully talented actors, awesome performances, costuming, stage lighting, and comfortable audience seating. The only frustration was it was hard to hear the actors at times because they do not audio augment the actors voice.

Last night, on the recommendation of our daughter in law, my lovely wife and I saw the Tempest at the Artists Repertory Theater. Neither of us are Shakespeare aficionados, so we approached the evening with a modicum of trepidation. Not to worry. The production was amusing and extremely well performed. The talent of the actors was amazing. As entertainment goes... More

-Thought provoking themes -Provocative writing -Smart and funny -Intimate seating This is Portland theater at it's best. After attending a few shows last year my husband and I purchased 2013-2014 season tickets and so far have been more then pleased with the plays presented. But even more so with the customer service when we have need to change our ticket... More

WE have the season pass to all plays in the preview package. We get to see all the plays the day before they officially start. These are not stop and go performances, but fully staged productions. Twice we have been in the same row as the director, once with the production manager reviewing the show before premiere. Even got to... More

I have attended several programs at ART over many years. Generally they are quite good and well produced. The current show, Xmas Unplugged, is a sad exception. It is two, one-act plays and the first was so poor that I did not remain for the second. The actors were unable to speak loudly enough to be heard in the relatively... More

These guys are the Avis of Pacific Northwest theater--not the first, but trying harder. Inventive shows with strong repertory and visiting artists. Looking forward to the 2013-2014 season.
