St. John’s Bridge is Probably Portland’s most beautiful bridge. It’s a shame the craftsmanship and smile hasn’t carried on. Pack a picnic lunch something cool to drink and a blanket off across the bridge go to the park relax read a book enjoy your day....More

I was born and raised in Portland, and my favorite bridge has always been the St John's. Its Gothic arches are stunning and the views are spectacular. Make sure to also visit Cathedral Park underneath the east side of the bridge!

We had a morning to kill before catching our plane back to Pensacola and decided to visit and perhaps, walk across this bridge. It really is beautiful and has some nice little parks beneath it, but we decided that walking all the way across the...More

From either end of the bridge, the view is impressive. To the East, you see the Cascade mountains; to the West, Forest Park. A note of caution: go really early in the day to avoid a fairly constant stream of traffic.

Really nice bridge to drive over as you get to Forrest park. Make sure you do it. There is also a park underneath as well

We drove over several times while in the area. Traffic in the city is an issue no matter which road or bridge you are on, this is no exception.

If you are a lover of architecture you have to take in this classic bridge design. The public areas underneath are charming and great photo opportunities. Pack a lunch and take time to stroll and relax. The images will stick with you a lifetime.

This is my favorite bridge in Portland. I just love the color and the backdrop. Not a whole lot happening in St John's but if you get a chance to drive by on your way to German-town road, its worth a quick detour

The simple lines and elegant architecture make this one very stunning bridge. Did you know that "The Librarians" uses this as their location?

I believe the bridge was built in 1931. It is designed by the same architect who did the Golden Gate. As the story goes, it was meant to be build farther in town, but because of political pressure, it was moved down river to St...More
