Escaped the city to check out this island. Not too far, but definitely easier with your own car. Nice flat island along the columbia river, providing a great loop for bikers, and a nice stretch of sandy beach.

Since we rode this route during the week, the roads were pretty quiet. Though the roads are a bit rough in spots, it was peaceful and lovely!

All the local farms are worth the price alone. You can strawberry, blueberries or peaches. You can bike the island or fish or hunt. Each section of this place has its own unique character.

Fun to get out to Sauvie Island and roam around. Lots of things to see. Enjoy it while you can. It is getting more and more closed up.
