Portland City Hall is a very distinctive looking four-story Italian Renaissance-style building built in 1895. It has a sandstone exterior and takes up a full city block. And it has been on the National Register of Historic Places since 1974. There are landscaped grounds around City Hall with a Statue of a large bell that reminds me a little bit... More

Happy Cup Coffee, a very Portland kind of enterprise, has been providing coffee and breakfast and lunch to employees and visitors who come to City Hall. Highly rated coffee in the City's tradition is roasted right in town, has a mission--to provide employment for people with disabilities. From your seat in the atrium you can watch an elaborate early elevator--and... More

City Hall is underappreciated, a vintage gem in downtown Portland. It was (or is?) to be torn down, but now the plan is to wreck the VQ with a big new building on the river. Still, City Hall is worth a quiet 5 minute walk through when strolling downtown.

Please everyone do yourself a favor and don't ever visit Portland. I was yuck end out, creeped out and on constant alert the whole 4 hours I was there. Addicts, trash and filth is the only thing holding this lost city together. Such a huge disappointment. I have always wanted to visit. It is the first city i haven't purchased... More

This is one of the most beautiful view in the City of Portlalnd I have ever seen. It has a nice bar with lots of open seats, and a nice restaurant with a great selection. You can see the complete city along with the bridges for miles. If you are visiting, a must see for all vacationers!

We loved walking by the City Hall and it was just like we saw it in Portlandia with the herb garden on the front. Sweet.

Only in Portland would a city pay staff to work 24/7 for the sole purpose of escorting homeless and drugged out people in and out of city hall so they can use the bathroom. The structure itself might be worth a glance or two but I personally wouldn't go into the restrooms. Also, it is very common for city hall... More

The rounded front of City Hall brings in the tourists....and the protestors! It's a spectaculor look for a government building!

City Hall is one of the prettiest in the US. It is so gratifying to see the old buildings kept in good repair and still used for the purpose for which they were originally built!

There are many other buildings that look better in my opinion but it fits into downtown okay (maybe we are just used to it). Lots of business done there!
