On the surface, the Hollywood district doesn't look like much besides the obvious: transit hub, Hollywood Theater, Whole Foods, 24 Hour fitness, but in the recent year, I've explored the district more thoroughly, and discovered a good many hidden gems ... cafes, restaurants and such....More

It used to be cooler but now it's gentrifying and becoming more generic. A lot of the oddness is gone.

The Hollywood Theater is the center of the Hollywood District in Portland. The theater is out of yesteryear in style. It is supported on a non-profit basis and features tables on which to place food and beverages. If you like nostalgia, visit this theater!

It looks a new residential area with some modern buildings and a Whole Foods supermarket. It also has lots of restaurants and pubs. The Hollywood theater is a local highlight. It looks vintage and gives lots of character to this area.
