Oregon road info said it was open, but 7 miles up from Sisters it was closed with danger signs. We went back and around to Santiam pass to take a great walk along the falls

Ever changing shades of green speckled with wildflowers. Lava flows appearing out of nowhere and disappearing again as you drive along. Majestic snow topped mountains and rugged terrain makes this a great ride. Net-Net: Worth the trip from Eugene to Sisters.

This is a must see scenic loop. Absolutely the most beautiful part of a very beautiful state. Snow capped mountains, fast flowing rivers. Rugged ancient lava flows.

This is a beautiful drive with plenty to see. Lava flows, Clear Lake, Shahalie Falls, and just beauty all around. Part of this drive is windy, and there no restaurants, so pack a lunch and enjoy!

This a great place to visit with the kids. Lots of scenic views to watch. And lava flows, that show off the natural history of the past. It takes you back to a time where lava ruled the land.

You have to contact odot. To find out when the road opens. It varies based on snow levels and the type of road work that they might be doing. I say this because each year is different.
