Cape Meares has stunning views from the path to the lighthouse, the shortest on the Oregon Coast at 38'. The path is a loop and not long but very steep on one side going down and very steep going up the other end of the...More

We visited on a Sunday with nice weather, huge crowds, parking is an issue unless you arrive early. This is one of the nicest light houses I have been to. There was a nice couple doing tours and it was very interesting with some great...More

We loved this lighthouse! It was just a tiny little one, the shortest on the coast. The view, the park and the lighthouse were so cool. While at the lighthouse a pod of whales came by and danced in the waves for a bit for...More

Able to climb inside the short tower, and get up close to the lens. Very nice, well maintained, grounds with wheel-chair friendly path around the lighthouse.

Nice drive up to the point, but take note that the road gets narrow. Walk downhill to the lighthouse (which may or may not be open - wasn't for us but good photo op anyway) for beautiful views both ways along the coast. You can...More

The walk to the lighthouse is beautiful in the late afternoon, and the view from the point is outstanding. The walk back up is moderately uphill, but you can stop and rest if needed, and take in the scenery. There are two paths to the...More

We stopped here (From the south, its the end of the road until the washouts are fixed) and enjoyed the tour and scenery in the area. Also walked to the "Octopus Tree" Nice facility and friendly staff.

Hubby and I decided to take the loop Hwy that encompasses Cape Meares and Cape Kiwanda. Unfortunately the road is washed out, so you must backtrack a bit-- but all in all, who cares!! This was the best lighthouse campus of all that I've seen...More

It was a misty and windy day when we came here and that made for a mystical walk through the tall trees. The path that takes you to the lighthouse is on a slight slope so going down it is easy but walking back up...More

No big deal. Not very interesting. Good restroom facilities though. Best part is it was free. Had to go and get a patch of the lighthouse cuz we're collecting them. I've seen better.

I'm not sure what times the area opens and closes. In the Winter months I would assume that it would be during daylight hours, probably 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. My wife and I went to Shore Acres State Park last weekend in the... More

GoogleMaps shows very good detail. Approx 300yds on blacktop with benches along the way. There is gradual but constant decline in elevation on way to lighthouse.
