I'm a horror movie fan, and staying in room #217 from the book, The Shining, was a must for me. I'm saddened to report that there were no spooky twins in our hallway, nor was there a gruesome woman in our tub (there is no...More

Great experience at Timberline Lodge. The history and craftsmanship of the building are amazing. Rooms are comfortable but small - don't bring much luggage! The public areas are clean, spacious and cozy. Sit on the patio looking at Mt. Hood. Take the ski lift up...More

This 1937-built building is iconic and amazing. Well worth a visit just to see the interior--huge logs and timbers used. Gigantic fireplaces; old fashioned furniture. I loved it.

There was still snow in July which made it quite fun for the kids. Plenty of hiking and other things to do here.

Visited here in mid-July on a day when it was uncomfortably hot in Portland. Its much cooler - people were skiing. There are lots of walking paths in the neighborhood of the lodge, and adequate parking even on a busy day. The views are incredible.

Such a beautiful lodge just above the tree line and just below Mt Hood. All I can say is wow. On a clear day, we could see for miles, even could see Mt Jefferson. Toured the lodge and the grounds which are amazing. Would love...More

I have been to Timberline Lodge many times but just bumped into the hour long tour. It was impressive and fascinating. The place is steeped in surprising history from its WPA roots to considerations to burning it to the ground when it fell into disrepair...More

We stopped at the Lodge as our last stop on our tour and it was great. Nice place to relax and unwind, while taking in the cool weather and snowy sights. The view of Mt. Hood is impeccable.

Be careful on your booking; We planned a vacation in the middle of May to fly into Washington and see the sights since we have never been to the northwest before. Booked a room at Timberline lodge online and received an e-mail with a confirmation...More

It was a cool spring day, snow in the forecast but the roads were clear and it was a beautiful drive up to the lodge. Snow still on the ground and plenty of skiers and snow boarders around. We went for the lunch buffet which...More

Make no mistake about Mt. Hood, it is a "Climb" no "hike". I have climbed it once, at age 50, but only after a number of rigorous hikes first. Guides will require a 1/2 day training session in advance to build skills, like... More

Timberline Mountain Guides is located on site at the ski lodge. I have made the summit numerous times with their mountain guides. I cannot recommend them enough.

There are amazing trails departing directly from the Timberline Lodge including the Pacific Crest Trail. The Forest Service has maps for you on site. I have hiked many and the views are incredible.
