We stopped here to learn a little about the history of transportation along the Oregon coast. Since we were driving up 101 we could see the challenges presented by the terrain and the rivers and ocean. The museum shows how long it would have taken to traverse coastal Oregon and by what methods in different time periods. There is also... More

Located near the Alsea Bridge, this small museum provides lots of information about the bridges of Oregon. Along the wall is an interesting historical timeline. Just outside is view of the bridge.

We checked out this museum after walking across the bridge, and enjoyed the photos, old boats and replicas of the bridge.

A fascinating look at the bridges of Oregon and the history of Highway 101. Lots of historical photos, a video of the building of the Alsea Bridge was running is a separate space, and some interpretive activities for children. A few items are for sale - books, t shirts, and there is lots of information on the surrounding area attractions

A stop at Waldport’s Alsea Bay Historic Interpretative Center teaches visitors, via a time line all around one room, a lesson about Waldport and the state’s transportation history. It also have displays celebrating McCullough and information on the many bridges he built. Among the exhibits are an extensive model of the Alsea Bay Bridge, photos of the bridge’s construction, and... More

You can view the history of the area plus get a ton of info about the Oregon coast. We just moved here and this was best place we have found to explore all the incredible spots in the area using their large selection of brochures and books. You can also shop for all kind of Oregon related products.
