The mosquitos were so incredibly bad that after we ventured 20 feet from the car we had to run back. I was bitten all over my legs n face. THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE. Now a one star is not aimed...More

What a terrific place to visit. The falls are simply amazing. A little steep in places down the trail, but well worth any effort to see these falls. There are places at the bottom to explore and get right up close to cascades and rapids....More

My wife and I and our two pups drove from Maupin (with sandwiches from the Maupin Market) for a trip to the Falls. The Park is very clean and has picnic tables in shaded areas for relaxing on hot days. The Falls are impressive and...More

I always love coming here. It's a little difficult to find but it's a short hike down to an old historic hydroelectric power plant. It's very steep in places so you need to be careful walking. You can also walk a little father past the...More

If you ever find yourself on Highway 197 driving south from The Dalles, White River Falls State Park is just a short detour off the highway and well worth a stop. This is a scenic waterfall, an interesting historical site, and a pleasant, short, but...More

The falls are cool and all but the remains of the power house at the bottom of the falls is as cool and weird as it can get. The trail leading down to this wreck is not too bad, but it is a steep descent...More

Take time to walk the trail down to the river if you are up for this....do watch for rattlers & poison oak but this is really the way to see the Falls fully. This place is well loved by locals & is a fun place...More

Great little state park where you can picnic, take a short hike, or just view the falls. A lot closer to Tygh Valley than Wasco, only about 5 miles. Closed a lot during the winter and have found gate locked when it should be open.

I have visited several times over several years on car club runs, and on the Harley. A great picnic stop with lucious green grass, rest stop facilities, tables, and a view of the falls. There is a fence to remind you of the hazard of...More

The trail is short, but steep, and the combination of sharp rocks and loose sand could make it challenging for novices or kids 6 and younger. The falls and old buildings are lovely, and there is great spot to wade in the river at the...More

We were there in July, but if the snow is not too deep, I would think that it would be open year around. They do not charge, so you just drive to it, and I don't remember seeing a gate.
