A nice view of the ocean

A short excursion off of Hwy 101. You don't have to get out of the car to see everything. A nice plaque gives you the history of the lighthouse.

We were on a road trip down the Oregon Coast and saw the turnoff for this lighthouse. Glad we stopped, but were a little underwhelmed. The lighthouse itself wasn't that impressive, kind of short/squatty. But, the views of the ocean were very nice. We saw a boat entering the harbor, no whales- but we heard that it wasn't whale season.... More

This is billed as a whale watching place, but when you get there the sea is just too far away. Go elsewhere to watch whales. the light is neat, but closed when we got there, so no comment.

It was worthwhile to visit Lighthouse that day. this is for Nature and Lighthouse Lovers. Interesting Lighthouse tour (just $6 per Adult). Excellent ocean view. Come and see!

Had been by here many times before but not when the museum and lighthouse were open for tours. Was a great bit of knowledge and history to learn and the view from the interior was great. If you can appreciate the solitude and beauty of the view, stop by.

This is the prettiest sight at night and especially when foggy. Red and white facets of lights streaming across the sky. You just want to sit in your car/truck forever and watch.

Hidden Gem! This beautiful campground is adjacent to Lake Marie which is a hidden gem on the Oregon Coast. An easy to travel, 1 mile, maintained path surrounds the lake and is a very enjoyable stroll.

Very nice tour provided for $6 per person, which includes admission to the nearby museum. The volunteer guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The museum is small, but informative and beautiful.

Not as picturesque as say Heceta Head or Yaquina Head lighthouse this lighthouse is almost plain by comparison. Located inland a bit, at the mouth of the Umpqua river just south of Winchester Bay, it can be access via a short drive from Highway 101. There is also a visitor center/Museum located a very short walk north of the lighthouse.... More

Really loved the tour of the light house. Our guide was well informed with a personal connection. His enthusiasm was infectious and we learned a lot about local history. Went there on a beautiful sunny day and were in a very small group. We felt privileged to get this much access and attention. Don't miss the museum and gift shop,... More
