We we were driving by and decided to stop in for a hike. It is very pretty...but for someone there on a whim it was difficult to find a trailhead or any information.

This is a nice park for picnics, fishing, boating, cycling and jogging. It's clean and relatively maintained. Boat rentals and concessions during the season. They have restored the lakes health and it's also developed into a awesome fishery for bass.

This is about a 3 1/2 mile hike around Shawnee Lake. It is level for most of the hike and is very easy hiking. Most of the hike is shaded with a beautiful view of the lake. There are plenty of benches and picnic areas...More

Roughly 3.5 mile easy hike around the lake. The trail is wide and well maintained. Yearly visits will net you views of deer, eagles, and other wild life. 90% is shaded.

When visiting this area, we always try to make it a point to walk around Shawnee Lake on this very nice trail. You may even get a chance to spot a bald eagle or an osprey diving for dinner. The trail offers a fairly easy...More

For the most part it is. There is a steep incline at the breast of the dam. Maybe 25 feet. I see a lot of people pushing strollers along the trail.
