Rude employees and outdated
Mar. 2021 • Friends
Staff is VERY rude. Every employee I encountered was very short spoken and was never kind. I never felt at home. The chalets are outdated and need updated. Even the custodian complained to me about how I didn’t throw my trash away correctly. It feels very hostile and if it wasn’t for the DECENT slopes, I would have never came here. Definitely will not be returning.

Overpriced cabin in need of updates
Feb. 2021
We stayed in a cabin rented through 7-Springs resort. "Robin’s Nest" is overpriced for a 2 night weekend stay. If lift tickets were included in the price, it wouldn’t have been so bad, but this was overpriced for this tiny cabin, with no perks (no dishwasher, no washer/dryer, no hot tub) Additionally, it is a TINY cabin in need of updates and repairs. The rooms are small, the queen bed is uncomfortable with lumpy stained pillows, which I would hardly call a luxury. The kitchen needs a dishwasher, especially at that price point. Also, at some point there was a washer/dryer in that cabin and someone thought it didn’t belong there. If the cabin had an updated king sized bed with fresh pillows and linens, dishwasher, and a washer/dryer, it might be worth the price for 2 nights, including lift tickets. I felt it was overpriced for what the accommodations were. To compare, a few weeks ago, we stayed in a King junior suite in the main lodge, that included lift tickets for 3 days, and 2 breakfasts for 4 people, for under $1,000. I was very disappointed to learn there were no lift tickets or discounts associated with this cabin’s price point. Additionally, the slopes were very crowded and I don't really understand how they were observing a "limited" capacity for COVID precautions. The lift lines were 20 minutes minimum and because of the flow of most of the trails, the advanced slopes merge with beginner, so you have aggressive advanced skiers and boarders zipping past children and beginners. They need to patrol the mountain. I see lift operators at Polar Express telling people to wear masks, but that was the only enforcement of any kind. I agree with the previous comments, there is a lot of trash on the mountain, and there is no excuse for that. There are receptacles at the bottom and top of the lifts. They do need patrol to go under the lift and pick up the trash. Bottom line, if you go and stay overnight, stay in the lodge. Avoid the overpriced, tiny and outdated cabins that do not include lift tickets. And my best advice, go midweek when the lines and crowds are at their lowest.

Ski weekend
Feb. 2021
Very nice lodge and mountain resort. Need to improve ski-in/ out access to lodge, but all else very nice! Also need to more limit # of lift tickets, for most of weekend there were 20-30+ min lift waits at main lifts

Horrible Customer Service
Jan. 2021 • Family
Customer service is extremely poor. Waited in line for 45mins to get our tickets, ultimately missing our ski lesson. Manager, or whoever we spoke with, gave us a refund but other than that did not seem to care one bit. Mind you, I had to email them 2 days before our trip bc customer service answering calls was also rude and did not answer questions we had. First and last experience with this resort. Kids extremely disappointed they were not able to partake in ski lessons.

Could be so much more
Jan. 2021
Today was my first time skiing Seven Springs after a half dozen visits to the associated resorts of Laurel Mountain and Hidden Valley. Suffice to say, it was a huge disappointment. This was especially true since the mountain has some legitimate assets, including some decent (but short) steeps, and some of the only mogul runs you're going to find in the region. The mountain has a decent vertical for the area, and combined with the spread, there's a good variety of terrain. The biggest plus was the ski school; the resort clearly puts emphasis on ski instruction and it shows. The downsides are pretty rough though. Right off the bat, there is trash everywhere. Beer cans and bottles strewn all up and down the line below their premier lift. There was even trash along the runs. By afternoon it was easy to see where it comes from, drinking everywhere. Around the lodge, in the lots, everywhere. We're talking about Sunday on a non-holiday weekend, so it probably gets worse from there. Honestly, I've probably skied ~500 days in my life and I have never seen a mountain with so much trash on it. Another big bummer and obviously related is that there are a ton of obnoxious/unsafe skiers. That's probably true everywhere, and the layout of the resort funnels a lot of people into beginner runs. But there are lots of kids on these runs and the aggressive/out of control skiing is completely unchecked. Generally speaking, there is almost no visible patrol presence on the mountain at all. There are some other issues, too, like mixing lift-lines with throughways (which mean some folks try to thread the needle with speed). Again, no enforcement. I get that a resort has to cater to its patrons and no one wants to clip tickets but this is out of control. Seven Springs is the most expensive hill in the region, and it's not particularly close, so you'd expect more. At 90+ bucks an adult ticket, the lift rates are comparable to much larger NY/NE resorts.

Fun but very crowdd
Jan. 2021 • Family
Well maintained slopes but be prepared for a crowd. Long lines and crowded slopes. It’s a little nerve wracking when people go flying by your kids but if you’re patient you can find openings. Overall it was a fun day of skiing.

Poor Restaurant Service
Jan. 2021 • Family
We’re currently staying at the hotel and on our second day. Seems like everywhere we go they lose our food tickets! Went to Slopeslide for lunch and they lost our ticket. Took an hour for our food to come out. Their server was very nice and apologetic and tried to make it up to us. Apparently the kitchen threw out the ticket. Later this night we went to the pizza shop for a quick dinner and our ticket again gets forgotten. They completely skipped our number, not by just one or two either. After I asked the window they told me it was in the oven but 6 people who ordered after me still got there food before I did. Also, it’s a guessing game if anyone picks up the phone at the front desk, and you can forget it if you try to reach one of the restaurants. I will say the team that works the slopes are amazing. The instructors, especially Hannah, were really attentive with our kids. Even sent pics to us when they went up the lifts which was amazing because it was their first time.

Snow tubing during COVID
Jan. 2021
I took my kids tubing at Seven Springs yesterday for the first time. I bought tickets online, and printed out the liability vouchers. They scanned my phone at the drive-through entry gate and gave us tags to put on our jackets. I asked which way to go for tubing and the woman instructed me to drive up the hill. We parked but could not tell which way to walk and we didn’t see any signs. There was a crowded shuttle bus filled with skiers which we did not want to get on. We were directed to walk down to the resort. A worker in the resort directed us to get on a shuttle bus in front of the convention center, but we realized the tubing place was a short walk away. I realized we hadn’t turned in the liability vouchers so I had to go inside and wait in the ticket line. I wish they had asked for them at the drive-through gate. The tubing was by nature socially distanced, and though mask use was spotty, I felt relatively safe. It was a lot of fun, but it would have been nice if the resort would have had a few more directional signs and maybe limits on the shuttle bus capacity. I saw some groups sitting outside their cars in camp chairs eating together. If we meet friends there we will do bring food and chairs to do the same.
