This location is open specific hours, but we scheduled a special tour for our Cub Scout group. They had several period characters on location to give tours, answer questions and 'be the voices' of specific people of the time. Donations accepted and also a small gift area. We definitely enjoyed the visit.

We visited the museum last Sat and we were pleasantly surprised. We got a guided tour through 4 small rooms of artifacts. The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly it took about 40 minutes for the tour. It's a free museum they just ask for a donation which we happily gave.

My family and I were in Bucks County and we stumbled upon this small, but delightful CIVIL WAR MUSEUM in the heart of Doylestown, Pa. It is 2 floors with about 4 rooms of artifacts. The tour guide was QUITE KNOWLEDEGABLE and added to the enjoyment. If you are a history and especially a Civil War buff, do not miss... More

For me, stepping into the BCCWRT was like stepping into the Past. As a student of the War, I was fascinated by the memorabilia, and the tour guides, the Generals, made the experience burst with life! A profound sense of humility and honor meets at the Civil War experience for those courageous souls who fought to keep our Nation whole... More

Especially love the tour guide Union and Confederate Generals who were well informed with a generous sense of history and humor.

A few months ago, our local newspaper ran an article on a day trip to Doylestown and the various attractions there. That is how we came to discover this gem of a small museum. As others have said, the docents really make the experience. Our docent was originally from Plainfield, NJ, but he has a Virginia connection, so his perspective... More

Visited this place over a year ago with friends who are civil war history buffs. Quite small but packed with artifacts and information. The young teenage docent who led us through the collection was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommended. Plan on an hour or so.

The docents make the place - they are dedicated volunteers who know their stuff and make it come alive for visitors. I went there twice with guests visiting me from outside this area. It is a small museum, but it is full of memorabilia and art work and many other things that will be of interest to Civil War buffs!... More
