This is a nice, inexpensive little museum providing a history of the local Lenape tribes. The day we went, the attendant in the gift shop, where everything starts and ends, was very nice, very personable and helpful.

For $7/person, the museum uses a paced audio tour with a handheld speaker device that has no way to use headphones. Therefore, the tours have to be spaced apart so the sounds of one doesn't interfere with the ones before or after. It also does not enable you to really peruse all of the displays and artifacts because the audio tour cannot be paused or stopped and moves you from one room to the next on its pace. This was the only drawback I found with what the museum is attempting to be.

Of course, spacing apart the tours may require you to wait, as we did, for other tourers to precede you. That waiting, of course, occurs in the gift shop. While that's a negative, the gift shop, itself, is actually pretty interesting with many items, mostly with a Native American theme, available for purchase, with many of them at a relatively reasonable price.

Accessible from the gift shop is another store that has three specific areas, one has a few more Native American themed items, upstairs is a Native American themed book store with, we were told, over 800 titles - that seemed to be accurate. The third section is a ski apparel store with a ski rental business in the basement. We bought a pair of skis there, maybe 15 years ago, and asked about it. We were told they only rent skis now, no more sales.

the ladies were very informative and professional, the tour was excellent, I and the family learned so much more than even I already knew. And Im fourth generation Mexican. The kids were excited to learn how the original people of America lived.

A small but interesting museum that ties our past to present. The self guided half hour tour works with a small speaker they give you to hold. Very informative about the Lenape Indians. The gift shop is very interesting.

This place is nice. They have an audio tour, and you can get close up views of all of the displays. We saw a bus load of children leaving when we drove in. Staff view friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed our visit. Thank you for caring about Native American history and their lively hood. Enjoyed looking at the herbal section, fascinating! I wonder if you have books for sell that would be written by tribal people. Worth the stop!

This small, well-curated museum provides a good introduction to the history of the Delaware Tribe, which has lived in the region for thousands of years. It highlights how they lived their lives, with everything from cooking, tool production, religious beliefs, and relationships with European settlers. You get a 30-minute guided audio tour, which is very informative and adds on to, rather than repeats, the information on the wall signs. It's not a big museum (honestly, we would have finished in less than 30 minutes without the audio tour), but the guided tour is part of the admission and is well worth the listen. I really liked the section on medicinal herbs and how the Tribe really used everything they caught or hunted. They said at the end of the tour that there aren't any full-blooded Delaware Native Americans left, but I wonder if there are any Delaware tribe members at all (even if not full-blooded) who could have collaborated with the museum, as this would be a wonderful educational opportunity for the community.

The gift shop is really extensive and has a lot of stuff in it.

Please note: this museum is *not* handicap accessible - I didn't see any ramps, and the museum is pretty small, which can be hard to maneuver if you're in a wheelchair.

There is a self-guided audio tour through six small rooms, which was informative and put together with care. The gift shop carried a wide variety of items, including one of the most extensive collection of books on Native Americans that I have seen. It’s on the top floor of the gift shop and well worth a look. The staff was friendly and well-informed.

This is a small museum, but it’s packed with lots of information and photos. Allow a half hour for audio tour and about fifteen minutes to browse the gift shop. Lots of great artifacts and pictures. True history people should learn about - especially the map and information on William Penn land treaty.
