Teddy Roosevelt declared that this Italian Renaissance-style building was “the handsomest building I ever saw”. Indeed, the State Capitol, with its vaulted dome and grand staircase and the murals and painted floors inside, is thing to behold.

Totally worth a trip and your. The architecture alone is a work of art and the interior is spectacular. Plus, it's situated on a gorgeous street lined with historic churches and buildings facing the riverfront.

I have the pleasure of living in our lovely capital city of Harrisburg, PA, and regularly visit the Capitol Building as part of my job duties. Each and every time I enter this magnificent structure I am in awe of its beauty. The building was designed by Joseph Huston in the classic style adapted from the architecture of the Italian... A beautiful ornate building. When Teddy Roosevelt visited it in 1906 he called it the most beautiful Capitol Building in the US.

This is a great tour of an historically significant building. Amazing architecture. Be sure to take the guided tour and you'll get to places you can't get to with the self-guided version. Check to see if legislature is in session and stay away from the week days. Saturday and Sunday is best or you'll get in a parking nightmare.

I have visited a number of state capitol and the Harrisburg one is by far the most beautiful. The city of Harrisburg is walk-able and has other interesting attractions. The river walk is very scenic

I walked right in to a rally in the Capitol building. So nice to see democracy in action. After the first event there was another smaller rally. The building itself is beautiful and they offer tours every 30 minutes.

His is quite the capital building, inside and out. The green tile roof is amazing as are the numerous statues. If you have the time, stop in for a tour.

Absolutely stunning. The level of ornate detail in the chambers is like something one might see in Vienna, but distinctly American as well. An utterly unique and impressive building. Frequent and interesting tours, and it's free!

first thing is parking was not cheap. I explored much of the outside as well. Too much to see in 1 day and wear your walking shoes.
