The National Civil WAR museum was very nice. Had a great variety of Civil war artifacts with in-depth description of them. We spent well over two hours and it felt like only a few minutes. We would gladly go back again.

I live near Gettysburg and have visited the museum there on multiple occasions. This museum is just as nice maybe even nicer. It’s a must-see for both the Civil War buff and the novice.

Came to town for a visit. Found the museum and we came in for the afternoon. The museum is very well set up and does a very good job examining the way from both sides and giving a very balanced portrayal of the impact.

Located on a rolling hill, the museum could be part of a Civil War battle site. The broad entrance hints of Southern Mansion meets Northern brick construction. Inside, the staff are inviting and very helpful regarding the museum. Laid out in sweeping displays across 2...More

The best place to start would be to contact the US Army Heritage & Education Center in Carlisle, PA and check one of their reference bibliographies on the 21st PA Calvary. I hope this helps!
