If you're staying at a nearby hotel, it's a good way to kill some time. There are plenty of shops, bars, and restaurants, plus a theater, the Improv, and bike rentals, all within walking distance of several hotels. The area is also nicer than some other parts of Pittsburgh.

First time I have been in Homestead in 30 years. It is amazing how this area has been cleaned up. Old rusty decaying mills are now a modern Shopping Complex. They even left some parts up like chimneys and old mill artifacts to add to the experience and history of the area. I am amazed. Bike trails, hotels, restaurants plus... More

This is an open air mall. The is a lot to do for all ages. The bike trail is fun to walk, but there is bike rental.

The Waterfront is one of those developments that includes lots of retail shops, restaurants, coffee shops, cinema, housing complex, offices, bike trail and more. If someone chose to live here, everything would be right across the street, and on the other side is a beautiful view of the Monongahela River.

Yes. Lots of chains - national and local. But plenty of options for all tastes - nice movie theater, best Pgh comedy club, tons of upscale chain eateries along with cheap ones too. Fun shopping options that are nice to have with some being the only Pgh outpost. Traffic gnarly sometimes. Right next to Sandcastle.

It has been a long time since I was at the waterfront. What a nice surprise how build up it is. I didn't have enough time to totally enjoy everything that it offered.
