We visited on our own and pretty much had it to ourselves. There's not a lot to see, but it's impressive that there after still some walls and a stupa standing. The landscape is very barren, which must have made for tough living. There is...More

Wonderful place, completely under visited, we were mostly alone. Best with a guide, but easy to appreciate even with little information. Built on a grand scale.

Interesting visit which worth the trip for a 1700 years ild building. Make sure you get a guided visit because without the history and the background explanation the visit may get quite tasteless.

This site is definitely worth the trip. Only the West Temple site is open, as research is still being conducted at the larger East Temple. The West Temple is stunning and under-visited. We were alone and able to appreciate the ruins against the backdrop of...More

Subashi is a short (half day at most) trip from Kuqa. The ruins are interesting and made more special by the fantastic mountain backdrop. When we were there we saw only a handful of other people. The entrance fee is cheap (CNY25 pp) but taxi...More

If you are a history buff particularly interested in the ancient Silk Road these ruins will demand your attention. There is much to be learned and appreciated from among the ruins.
