Ok, I just about died walking up, lol. Be prepared that it's pretty rigorous! It's also $2 for non-Nicaraguans. The view is oh so worth it, though. What a lovely place. They also have a small chapel and bathrooms, which is convenient.

I like so badly SJdS but that town offers only beach or maybe also... Sunday Funday:) But if you want to spend your day actively and you don’t wanna take surf lessons and move to other beaches you should take water and go that viewpoint....More

If you're in SJDS you're going to see this statue perched on top of the hill and you'll be attracted, so go. I'd advise to go early morning or late afternoon when the real heat is gone, the light is also better for photographs then...More

Great place to hike in the afternoon, it's no that far but pretty steep. Its marked how to get there or just get a taxy to bring all the way up .

This was a late afternoon, before sunset hike. It was quite a strenuous slope,iPhone claimed I did 38 flights of stairs. Wear good shoes, and be ready to pay $1 per person to enter. Even though the sign says they close at 5pm they are...More

You will sweat getting up there, but will be rewarded by the views. It's the best workout in town, as well!

Amazing view of San Juan Del Sur. Well worth a visit. Sadly these views will soon be overtaken by new developments in the countryside.... there are signs already.

This was a GREAT hike! We hitched a ride half way up and then hiked the rest of the way. For some reason, I can remember the name of any of the bars we went to or the name of the hotel we stayed in....More

A great way to start your day! Best to walk along the beach, look for the turn off into the residential area near a beach wreck boat and follow the signs. It is a real climb up on cobblestone road and the last section is...More

There are toilets at the top and are free. No snacks. There is a tap but not sure if drinking water. 60 Cordoba's in for gringo, 30 if local. It's a hot walk up there but you can drive up half way and walk the...More

Yes you can totally drive a regular car up. It’s steep but the road is paved and in good condition.

Yes cruise port is very close, maybe 1/4mile from where we started. I recommend walking along the beach (cross a small river) until you get to the last road, then take a right. The last road looks kind of like a concrete... More
